![]() Overall - great food in a social and enjoyable atmosphere. The vegetables on the sandwich were all nicely grilled and the hummus was also delicious. The food arrived very quickly and was very good. There were several vegetarian options to choose from that I had difficulty choosing over (I finally settled on the Garden Vegetable Sandwich with vegetable chips) and my colleague was equally excited by his menu choices. However, we were then led to the back patio (enclosed) and saw that everyone was hanging out around the bar or in the patio and it was quite a lively location! The waitress was attentive - making sure we had water and menus right away and coming to take our order as soon as we were ready. At first we were unsure as we walked in and the place seemed empty. We walked over to the Yankee Doodle Pub in the Nassau Inn to eat and were served promptly and courteously.Ī colleague and myself stumbled upon the Alchemist and Barrister when looking for a place to eat that would satisfy both a vegetarian (myself) and a meat eater (my colleague). There are too many good restaurants in Princeton to bother coming back to a place with such lousy service and inedible food. /rebates/&.com252fRestaurantReview-g46756-d513556-Reviews-TheAlchemistBarristerRestaurant-PrincetonNewJersey. Of course, the manager never bothered to stop by to see us. I guess we should have ordered burgers tartare! After waiting another twenty minutes we told her to give us the check for our drinks and we left, with still no sign of the burgers. Our waitress told us that we were still waiting because we had ordered one of our burgers "medium well" and that made the order take longer. Several other couples arrived after us and were served their meals while we continued to wait. For dinner we ordered burgers and then the wait began. The other piece had no taste, so we sent the dish back, and the waitress apologized and said she would tell the manager who would do something to make up for it. When you removed the breading, one piece appeared to be old and not well cleaned. We ordered "fish fingers" as an appetizer, and what arrived was inedible. Our experience on Sunday, July 21 was very disappointing. Overall, it was a nice experience and a good one.My wife and I have eaten at the Alchemist & Barrister on several occasions, though not in the last few months. We will not be returning. ![]() The chicken wings were surprisingly good and affordable, so we had that going for us. The appetizer I ordered (chicken flatbread) almost seemed as if it was defrosted. It was nice to chat, and the venue was nice. It was a good cheesesteak, don’t get me wrong, but I have had much better for much less. Unfortunately, when the cheesesteak came out, it was half the size of a normal one and twice as expensive. I decided to go with the cheesesteak because I am a big fan of testing a new place’s cheesesteaks or pizza. There were a few good choices on the menu, but it seemed pretty standard. We walked into the restaurant, which in hindsight almost looked like a sports bar. Not more than 10 minutes into checking out the shops, we walked past a place called the Alchemist and Barrister. Alchemist & Barrister is a bit of a community hotspot, being rated the 1 Princeton Nightlife attraction by USA Today, it is essentially the most popular spot for locals and tourists alike to have a drink and a great meal. Place rating: 3.28 out of 5 with 9 ratings. ![]() Not worth the money but still a nice place. although even those items are on the pricey side. For a more casual visit there is a pub food menu including burgers and wings etc. ![]() This restaurant has been a city staple for years, being used for everything from birthday parties to business meetings. Food is great and you may get lucky with the beers. Over the past weekend, my friend and I went to Princeton to get some food and walk around. Alchemist & Barrister is a bar and restaurant located inside a historic building just minutes away from the Princeton campus.
